Hype Fighting Championship brings a blend of combat sports with a nine-match card featuring bare-knuckle boxing and dirty boxing matches, topped off by a 10-minute, submission-only main event between former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington and UFC bantamweight contender Raul Rosas Jr.
Covington has found an unlikely second life in his combat sports career since leaving the UFC in May. The longtime welterweight mainstay turned his attention back to his roots in the wrestling world by linking up with Real American Freestyle (RAF). While he's an investor in the company, Covington has also been a competitor, winning all five of his matches thus far and becoming the promotion's inaugural RAF Cruiserweight Crossover Champion. Covington is next set to face former UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev on the RAF mats on Nov. 14 in Russia.
Rosas, meanwhile, is on the hottest run of his still-young UFC career. In September, Rosas scored the biggest win of his MMA career in a Fight of the Year contender against Raoni Barcelos , extending his win streak to six. Veteran grappler Dillon Danis was originally scheduled to be Covington's opponent for Tuesday's show, however Danis withdrew due to injury and was replaced on short notice by Rosas.
Hype: Italy starts at 1 p.m. ET and airs live on DAZN.
